OpoSoft All to Apple TV Converter is a multi-format video converter. It was designed to convert video files to formats that are supported by the AppleTV. Unfortunately, this great gadget (the AppleTV) has limited format support. It can only play a handful of formats, among those H.264 and MPEG-4. So, if you want to play your HD MKV files on it, you are out of luck. Unless you convert them to H.264, for example. This app comes with a few different conversion profiles. There are some for the AppleTV and some for other devices like iPads, iPods and Android mobile phones. The AppleTV profiles use H.264 and MPEG-4 and there even is a 720p profile, which is the best way of converting MKV files for playback on the device.
This app comes with a video editor that lets you carry out basic video editing tasks, such as cropping or trimming your video and adding a few effects.
I like the fact that if you add an MKV file, or any other file that can have a subtitle track inside it, you can select that subtitle track and convert it your file with it.
In my testing, I converted a sample MKV file into the MPEG-4 AppleTV profile. The process took less than a minute for a 1-minute long clip. The resulting file played well on VLC.
